Our New Mechanical Printing Press Opens Doors to Artistic Exploration 🎨

Exciting times have dawned upon our Art  and Design Studio at Silvermine Academy as we proudly introduce the latest jewel in our creative crown – a brand-new mechanical printing press! This remarkable addition, made possible through the collaborative efforts of our passionate students, dedicated teachers, and a successful fundraising initiative, promises to redefine the artistic landscape within our walls.

The journey that led us to this occasion was nothing short of inspiring. On the vibrant evening of May 26, art enthusiasts and supporters gathered for an awe-inspiring art demonstration event that showcased the talents of our Grade 11 students under the guidance of Mrs van Wyk, a retired SMA teacher. 

Mrs van Heerden’s organisation of the fund raiser serves as a testament to the unwavering dedication of our school community. The event's success echoed in the cheers of joy as we surpassed our fundraising goal, making the dream of acquiring the mechanical printing press a vivid reality. Thanks to the handiwork of RL Vorster Engineering we were able to order a quality precision printing press. And today, we stand on the brink of endless artistic possibilities. The arrival of our new printing press heralds an era of innovative exploration and boundless creativity.
